Set list at Dry Dock open mic

September 4, 2026

When it's quiet quiet, it makes for odd open mics. On the minus side, you have to make your own atmosphere; on the plus, you get to sing lots of songs. Three sets!

Set 1:

Despite the shortage of listeners, I felt like this all went well. The first four songs are basically the B-side of the album I'm planning (shh, you didn't hear it here.)

Set 2:

I'm not sure I've remembered the order correctly here. Stupid and Young just didn't work for me and I was close to abandoning it. Down Escalator was ok, but didn't get much of a response. The last three were decent, but I was a bit down on myself after.

Set 3:

Someone should write a song about getting back up when you're on the floor. Ease myself back in with something familiar, and Connection and Lie Down have reached "reliable workhorses" status, buying me some confidence for CCA.

It was nice to see Mick towards the end, and not just because it meant I got a break; it's criminal that his Tom Petty set had so few ears on it.
